At Link6 the focus was sales. First we had Eoin McDonnell from precious.ie giving introduction to the Brian Tracy book “The Psychology of Selling”, the highest selling sales programme in history. This book gives practical advice on the questions you should ask your customers when closing sales.

Ann Kelsey from econatural.ie showcased her Irish Eczema Society approved range of clothing and skin care products. Ann has seen a profound change in the sleeping habits of children when they wear her garments that contain Natural Silver Soothe.

Barry McKenna from DPIsupplies.ie presented each participant with a comprehensive planning document on how sales should be approached and how sales can be closed as well as offering excellent tips on sales presentations.

Barry emphasized the importance of researching your customer before selling to them as well as researching your competitive advantages.

Here are Barry’s ten top recommendations for a sales person’s good habits and traits:

  1. be well organized and well presented
  2. good time keeping
  3. remembering buyers names
  4. 90% listening and only 10% talking
  5. be quick at responding to customer demands
  6. courtesy calls getting to know customers: get interested in their business
  7. manners
  8. let customers know about your recent business successes or what you´re working on
  9. be an industry expert
  10. be up-to-date on business news and sports events and read the newspaper daily

The feedback from the meeting was that it was one of our most intensive yet with a wide range of sales issues being discussed.

Link 7 will take place on 1st November 2010 at the Mansion House, Dublin.
